Announcement: Winter Parking Bans

I am pleased to announce, with Councillors Laura Dudas, Jenna Sudds, and Jan Harder, a new pilot project allowing Ottawa residents to park their vehicles at select Park & Ride stations during Winter Weather Parking Bans. When a winter weather parking ban is called, residents will be allowed to park their vehicles in designated parking spaces at these OC Transpo Park and Rides. This is in addition to free parking already offered overnight during parking bans at select parking garages.

Fire Hydrants on Your Property

If a fire hydrant is located on your property, you are responsible for ensuring nothing obstructs access to the hydrant, as per Ottawa's Water By-law. The City encourages you to be a hydrant hero this winter and keep your local hydrant clear of snow. Clearing 1.5 metres around a hydrant maintains access for our firefighters and helps them keep you, your family and your community safe. If you are unable to clear the hydrant, please report it 311.

My office has been made aware of the ongoing safety concerns on Earl Armstrong Road, in Riverside South, particularly at the intersection of Spratt and Earl Armstrong. I would like to reassure everybody that I am very aware of these concerns and this is an issue I am actively pursuing with City staff.

Please check out my community video updates. All new videos will be posted here. You may find the rest of my videos here

On January 30, 2020, St. FX students put together life bags consisting of sandwiches, snacks, and drinks for the homeless. An encounter with some homeless people gave Abby Higginson and Ahmed Hamza the idea to help feed those less fortunate, and this amazing initiative was the result. Thank you for the invitation allowing me to be a part of this awesome day.

Where is Ward 22?

Gloucester-South Nepean Ward or Ward 22 (French: Quartier Gloucester-Nepean-Sud) is a city ward located in Ottawa, Ontario. Situated in the south end of the city, the ward includes the communities of Chapman Mills, Stonebridge and Davidson Heights in Barrhaven as well as Riverside South and Findlay Creek in Gloucester. This new ward was created in 2006 from parts of Bell-South Nepean and Gloucester-Southgate Wards due to the rapid growth in both communities.
