The Barrhaven East Community Association is still calling for interested members. If you are interested in joining this community association, their next meeting will be held on Monday August 26, at 8:00 pm, at the Southpointe Community Centre. They are inviting all people who are interested or have expressed interest in attending. 

They are currently seeking those interested in putting their names forward for Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. They hope to have these names prior to August 23, 2019. If you are interested in putting your name forward, please email karenfromm@yahoo.ca.

This event hosted by CHEO, held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, raises funds for cutting edge child cancer research at CHEO, and empowers kids with hair loss by providing them with free wigs. 

Participants raise pledges for donating their hair and/or shaving their heads (or beards). At the event, they receive a wash, cut and style or shave. Participating hair stylists from various Ottawa & area salons, as well as teaching staff and students from the Algonquin College Hair Stylist program, volunteer their time for this cause.

It is Park Clean-Up time again. Every year, from Spring to Fall, Responsible Dog Owners of Canada http://www.responsibledogowners.ca holds Park Clean-Up Days in Ottawa area dog parks. 

During the morning they hand out bags & gloves to dog owners, who are the ones who do all the work picking up the garbage etc. Their reward is a much cleaner park, & their pups get dog cookies. 

Responsible Dog Owners of Canada would like thank you everybody who participates in these events. Please join them at several locations and dates:
